ASSESSMENT PHILOSOPHY

At DYNA we believe that assessment – no matter what the form should:

  • Contribute to the creation of value (results)
  • Should protect learner interests (NQF)
  • Should contribute to the development of a co-operative culture (relationships)

Different organisations have different assessment needs.

Such assessment needs may be determined by:

  • Operational realities
  • Learner and manager sophistication levels
  • Organisational culture
  • Experience and willingness to embrace assessment
  • Qualified assessors
  • Line management’s willingness to embrace assessment.

For assessment to work we have found it impractical to impose a rigid assessment procedure on organisations. Instead we realise that assessment is only as powerful as the buy-in and commitment it receives from those involved.

Consequently we involve customers in co-determining a relevant assessment strategy.

Typically such a strategy revolves around two implementation options:

1) DYNA Practical/formative assessment (non credit-bearing)

Is always included in our various open training programmes with well defined line management involvement

2) Independent assessment (credit-bearing)

For organisations that wish to assess learners who have completed Dyna programmes. A Portfolio of Evidence (POE) must be completed by the learner back in the workplace. DYNA provides the POE structure free of charge, on request. Assessment of the completed POE will be charged for per credit (please ask for a quote).

Whichever the approach DYNA will gladly assist in guiding you towards an assessment strategy that fulfils your operational and learner requirements.

Please refer to our skills programmes and unit standards lists to see what is currently on offer through DYNA.

All DYNA’s training programmes are unit-standard-aligned and quality assured.
